With little more than 1800 meters above sea level is one of the highest peaks of Madeira. The path to this viewpoint is made by a vertiginous road with breathtaking landscapes. At the top of the peak, in addition to the viewpoint, is an inn and a cafe.
Pico do Areeiro
The viewpoint one can see a trail of about 7 kilometers linking the Peak Megrim Pico Ruivo, the highest point of the archipelago. Anyone thinking this journey of about three hours to bring a flashlight because the route includes tunnels.
For those who continue to drive, the only possible way is back to the previous destination on the same road.
Pico do Areeiro welcomes yet, since March 2012, the center-of-Nun Wood, endemic bird and protected the region.
