Best island destination

After being elected in September as the best island destination in Europe , Madeira will compete for the world title in the same category , the World Travel Awards .

To win the category , Madeira will have to measure forces with Bali (Indonesia ) , Barbados , Cook Islands, Crete ( Greece) , Jamaica , Maldives , Mauritius , Seychelles, Sicily, Santa Lucia and Zanzibar ( Tanzania) .

Created in 1993 , the World Travel Awards recognize the best examples of good practices in the tourism sector on a global scale .
Voting result ‘online’ until 10 November in www.worldtravelawards.com / vote.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 30 in Qatar.

The Vine Hotel

We also dispute The Vine Hotel Design award as world. Remember that the Hotel The Vine Hotel Funchal, was voted best design hotel in Europe last year and now a world-class competition.
