Madeira from Glasgow – New connection to Glasgow from May

The airline Jet2 has announced that it will be operating a new route to Madeira from Glasgow airport starting next summer.
This will be the fourth route operated by Jet2 to Madeira, after Manchester, Leeds and East Midlands. Flights will operate weekly, on Mondays, starting on the 26th of May 2014.
The new flight from Glasgow will add a further 8,694 seats to routes from the United Kingdom, which is already the second-largest place of origin of tourists for Madeira Islands.

Jet2 has been operating direct flights to Madeira since 2010, and has a fleet of 50 planes, serving 54 destinations and 198 routes from eight airports in the United Kingdom. Jet2 carried more than 33,000 passengers in 2012 on its direct routes from Manchester and Leeds and is the 10th largest operator at Madeira Airport.
