The farmers market is located in the center of Funchal and was built in the 30s. With design authoring Edmundo Tavares is one of the most important testimonies of the new state of architecture in the city.

The farmers‘ market is known for the flowers, the traditional stalls showing all agricultural products typical of wood, bananas to various types of passion fruit, going through dozens of vegetable species and the aromatic herbs.

Downstairs are for sale fish and meat, on the first floor, are tropical fruits, vegetables and spices. In addition to these products, the market has a great rooftop terrace with comfortable rattan chairs.

Very pleasant and suitable to drink anything before or after shopping or a simple visit to the market.
